We may not all write a lifestyle blog but we have all certainly read one, stumbled upon one or even follow one regularly even if it is a celebrity one. Starting a lifestyle blog if you are a Celebrity is far easier than starting one if you are not and that’s because they have the notoriety already, the money to spend to get their blog out there or at least employ professionals and they already have a heavy following.
If you are not well known and not a Celebrity, you can still make a success of blogging and many have but you have to be prepared for the long haul and also be very prepared to be honest when you write because if you play it safe and keep your blog neutral, people won’t find it interesting enough and won’t read it.
We are quite fascinated by lifestyle blogs and don’t really care who writes them, if they are interesting, reveal quite a lot about your life, are humorous and honest, the truth is that people will want to read it and follow you and the reason for this is curiosity. We have this innate curiosity for other peoples lives, what they like doing, what their domestic arrangements are, where they go on holiday, their day to day lives and even the arguments, tears and tantrums. We seem to feel more real or less odd if we have an insight into other peoples lives and some even say, they learn a lot from watching others.
The Celebrity lifestyle blogs don’t really have to write a lot, they can use photographs and video’s and latest products to attract readers and visits but what can someone who isn’t a celebrity write that will mean they will attract readers. The first point to make is that writing a blog takes time, you need advice, lots of it to make sure your blog can be found on the internet but as for the subject matter, its really a case of writing what you are interested in and if being a Mom or Dad, sewing, Humour or just boring old living is what you want to write about then do it because the lifestyle blogs that are the most popular, are the ones that have no particular theme or rhythm, in fact, they just chronical their lives.
We like to know what others are doing and as more of us spend longer at home whilst reaching out through social media, this will increase. We don’t just want to see where you go on holiday, we want to feel like we are right their beside you and if you can write a blog that takes your readers with you, your potential readers will seek you out.
