Some of us spend months thinking up a business idea that is different, never been done before or totally unique to an already existing market but what we don’t realize is that you can take any business opportunity and make it your own by creating a niche market within your business idea.
If you make Cakes or want to start making Cakes to sell but think the market is saturated, why not think along the lines of making yourself different to what is already out there. Take what you already do and define what makes it a success in other ways.
Melissa Stefaniak did just that, from the US, Melissa loved baking but lived in a small apartment with little room for baking large quantities of baked goods. Whilst baking she realized she could make smaller quantities of her favorite baked goods, not only did this serve a good purpose by not wasting anything but it also got rid of the guilt factor which happens when we make too much and inevitably eat too much.
A business idea was born and Single Baked Sweets continues to go from strength to strength. The business idea works around the concept of meal kits and all customers receive a package with a foil Ramekin, instructions and measured dry ingredients. There are five recipes and all the customer has to do is melt a tablespoon or so of Butter, mix it all together and pop it in the oven.
This concept not only is great for people who live alone but great for families who have different tastes in puddings, there are five recipes to choose from and all are easy to prepare.
Baking Cakes and selling them is not a new concept and often it may seem impossible to compete with others in your area but if you add an edge to your business, you can emerge with a new business opportunity that pushes all the right buttons.
