Having Enough Confidence In Your Business Idea.

There are many different ways we can consider coming up with a business idea. There are those of us who would never contemplate coming up with any idea because we wouldn’t know where to start, there are those of us that actually have good business ideas but never imagine they might be able to put them into practice and then there are those of us that can’t find that one elusive idea that we know will come to us in the end.  A large proportion of people wanting to start their own business actually believe they must come up with a totally unique idea that no one else has ever thought of otherwise it simply won’t work.

Although Niche Businesses where the market is flooded are always businesses you should think carefully about, coming up with a totally unique business idea does not exist either.  Imagining that you have to think of an idea that has never been discovered would be lovely but you would be hard pushed to find one that does. It isn’t so much about coming up with a unique Business idea as finding one that you can make your own, whether there are others similar or not, its doing something better and making it a success what really matters.

The UK especially has seen a stark decline in new business start ups, it is estimated that up to 61% of UK Workers want to own their own business but one of the main reasons they feel they can’t, is lack of confidence in their abilities.  A close second is financials, with many believing that its far too risky and lastly, again linked to confidence, many feel they just wouldn’t know how to start and run their own business.

There are a few tips that everyone should at least think carefully about before they decide to give up on starting their own business idea. The first is to accept that failure is part of success and we won’t avoid it, in fact, failure is as important as success for many reasons. The feelings of not trying are often far worse than the feelings of trying and failing.

Always be prepared to research your market, competition and your local area. Many ignore this part of starting a business but its very important to understand your market and what you want to bring to it and how you will be different. Always be prepared to bring yourself and your ideas into the business and make it your own.

If you have to start your business whilst you are still employed elsewhere then so be it. A business takes time and although you may be working quite a few hours, in the end you are doing it for a very good reason.

Have absolute determination even on your off days, have a goal and ensure you stay consistent to that by not giving up. Always reach out to others especially those in the early stages of a business also, even those that we may meet across social media and those that we don’t know.

As for the business idea itself, choose something you have a passion for and enjoy, this is going to help enormously when the going gets tough and always remember that your vision is not always appreciated by everyone, be prepared to have confidence in your own abilities even if there are a few that don’t agree.
