Could You Work From Home Growing Wasabi.

We all like to have a little go at growing our own vegetables but we usually end up with far too much of one thing and end up sharing it around or we don’t do enough of something else but its certainly becoming more popular to grow your own vegetables not just for cost but because there is a real concern that its healthier and people in the UK just like the idea of having fruit and vegetables they know the origin of.
If you want to work from home, have the space and know what you want to grow for resale then of course this can be lucrative but you do need to know what market you are aiming at and what you specifically want to grow and concentrate on, It’s far better to concentrate on a couple of high end items and get that right than trying to grow too much. If you grow the run of the mill Vegetables such as Potatoes, Tomatoes and Lettuce, the chance is, you won’t make enough money to retire in splendid luxury but if you grown the more speciality Vegetables, you could be onto something.
There are some good business opportunities that involve the growing of specific fruit and vegetables that are particularly in favor at the moment and some of the choices may surprise you and some, you may not have heard of.
The most expensive vegetable in the world is experiencing a very high demand and those that do grow it for resale, do so in secrecy. The vegetable being lovingly nurtured is called Wasabi and the best place to grow this expensive Vegetable is in nutrient rich Soil with access to lots of running water. Wasabi was until recently grown in large quantities in Japan because they had the exact right conditions for growth but they have recently scaled back production because of high labor costs involved in harvesting it.  Wasabi is so difficult to grow and the conditions so hard to recreate, there’s very little competition in the UK Market but that doesn’t mean that some are not perfecting the art right now working from home.
The real Wasabi is hard to come by and variations sold in shops are probably not the real thing. The real Wasabi tastes a little like horseradish but is less harsh and some say the heat in Wasabi is a tolerable one that fills your nostrils pleasantly. The heat of the plant is at its peak five minutes after grating and many high end restaurants serve it at the table side where they grate the Vegetable to perfection. The green color of wasabi comes from the color of the Wasabi plant.
The potential health benefits of Wasabi are huge and although the plant is notoriously hard to grow, a few secret operations are under way where Wasabi is being grown in places that suit the ideal growing conditions needed. A secret place in Hampshire is doing just that, a farm that has always produced Water cress has now added Wasabi to its list and is doing incredibly well and whilst working from home growing Wasabi to sell may not be the ideal place unless you have a private Lake, there are many other places in the UK that are.
